Record exam results have failed to sustain Bradford schools’ progress up the national leagues, it was revealed today.
The district’s teenagers recorded a fifth successive year of improved results at GCSE and early indications were that A-level results had built upon similar successive rises.
But Bradford has slipped down the league tables of local authorities in England in both qualifications.
For its GCSE performance, Bradford ranks eighth from bottom, 144th out of 151, dropping seven places in a year.
At A-level, Bradford has fallen from 110th to 122nd out of 149 local authorities.
