When romantic novelist Janet Preston moves to an isolated cottage on the Yorkshire moors, she settles down for a weekend away from it all.
But her peace is disturbed when a stranger turns up. Add a country vet, a secretary and her fiance, plus the obligatory sinister housekeeper, and Janet’s weekend turns more murderous by the minute.
For its first production of 2011, Bingley Little Theatre presents Intent To Murder, a 1950s thriller by Bradford actor/playwright Leslie Sands.
Director Richard Thompson has been involved with Bingley Little Theatre for many years. Last year, he directed Mindgame and was also involved backstage on My Boy Jack.
He describes Intent To Murder as “an evening of intrigue and subterfuge.”
The late Leslie Sands appeared in several TV dramas including The Saint, The Avengers, which he also wrote several episodes for, Boon and Stay Lucky. His writing credits included TV’s Van Der Valk and A Family At War.
Intent To Murder runs at Bingley Arts Centre from January 17 to 22. For tickets, ring (01274) 432000.
