A Belgian teenager is gunning for a place at a top UK university after three years of schooling in Bradford.
Sixth-form student Saadet Ozyurt left her parents and younger brother in her home country to take a place at Coral College where she continues to board after moving to sit her A-levels at Aire Valley School in Cottingley.
Saadet, now in Year 13, has already achieved two A* grades, in A-level French and Turkish, and only needs a good grade in sociology to secure her offer to read French and English at Oxford University.
She said: “There have been difficult moments since I arrived but I like it here and I will be sad to leave Bradford.
“In the future I would like to be an interpreter and a writer.”
