The brother of a dad-of-three who vanished almost four years ago has made an anguished plea to find out his fate.
Sajid Saddique, of Heaton, Bradford, was 32 when he disappeared on Valentine’s Day, 2007. He told his family he was going to the bank and a business meeting in Shipley, but has not been seen since.
His Volkswagen Bora was found later that day, parked at the Asda supermarket. Police feared he had been abducted from the car park.
Now his brother, Majid Saddique, 33, of Allerton, Bradford, fears Sajid was murdered for his money.
“Sajid was comfortably off,” he said. “He always worked hard and had a good business. He had sold a £170,000 Lamborghini the week before he disappeared. He was also wearing a £45,000 Cartier watch, which has never been recovered.
“I think he was set up. I think he was murdered and his body is in water somewhere.”
Mr Saddique ran the Sandy Lane Motors car dealership with his brothers. He lived at the time in Heaton with his wife and their children – daughters aged six and two and an eight-month-old son.
On the morning of his disappearance, he said he would be home in half an hour and had planned to celebrate Valentine’s Day with his wife.
Majid said: “When he left home, everything was normal. Alarm bells didn’t start ringing until later in the day.
“All the family has been affected. We were very close. It is hard not knowing what has happened to him.
“He was very highly regarded in the community and was very close to his family. He loved to stay at home cooking for his sisters.
“Whoever knows what has happened, please let us know.”
Detective Chief Supt Andy Brennan, who heads West Yorkshire Police’s Homicide and Major Enquiry Team, said the case was “still being looked at and investigated.”
“His picture has been circulated across the world, appeals have been made across the world,” he said.
