A family of six escaped a fire at their Bradford home after they were alerted by the cries of frightened children.
Odsal firefighters were called to the terraced house in Great Horton Road, near the junction with Cross Lane, shortly after 10.15am today.
Watch commander Sally Dickens said the family, including a one-year-old baby and three other children, had managed to get out of the house by the time crews arrived.
She said the fire in the first floor bedroom had been discovered by two young children and the house had not been fitted with smoke detectors. She said it was believed the fire had been caused by an electrical heater in a bedroom.
