A teenage boy was rescued from his bedroom window by firefighters after a fire broke out at his home in Rastrick.
Brighouse firefighters were called to Field Lane, in Rastrick, Brighouse, at about 11.10am today after the teenager, believed to be about 16, found he was trapped in his bedroom.
Crew commander Michael Rhodes said: “When we got there a young man was hanging out of the window. We got a ladder up and got him out.
“The fire was in the kitchen and he was stuck in his bedroom.”
Mr Rhodes said the boy had been on his own in the house. He was taken to hospital by paramedics.
Mr Rhodes said the cause of the blaze was being investigated.
