Farm buildings could be used for retail sales under a change of use planning application submitted to Bradford Council.
The plan would see buildings at Lane End Farm, Gilstead Lane, Gilstead, Bingley, used as an agricultural and equestrian merchant’s centre. The farm used to be a dairy farm, but for the last decade it has been used as a livestock farm.
A supporting document submitted by FM Lister & Son chartered surveyors, of Otley, said: “The application site will be used for the storage and retail sale of agricultural and equestrian equipment and sundries, and sales office.”
There is no intention to use any of the surrounding agricultural property for non-agricultural purposes.
The applicant stressed that a recently-constructed agricultural building at the farm would remain in use as an agricultural building.
