It was a case of ‘Oh yes she will!’ when soldier Andy Fenton popped the question to his childhood sweetheart on stage during the Alhambra panto.
Andy, who is on leave after serving in Helmand Province in Afghanistan, joined the cast at the finale of yesterday’s matinee performance of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
Andy told the audience he had fallen in love with his girlfriend, Tracey Williams, 25 years ago when they sat next to each other at school.
“I’ve got my very own Snow White,” he said, as panto star Billy Pearce went into the audience to lead Tracey on to the stage.
Bradford-born Andy went down on one knee and asked Tracey to marry him. Moved to tears, she accepted and he placed an engagement ring on her finger, as the delighted audience and cast clapped and cheered.
