Bradford children’s charity One in a Million has revealed plans for a pioneering bid to open a new Free School at Valley Parade.
The charity, founded by Bradford City assistant manager Wayne Jacobs and Matthew Band, aims to open the school to 36 year seven pupils in September.
It is collecting support and expressions of interest from parents and the community to submit to the Department for Education in January.
Mr Band, the charity’s chief executive, said: “The aim of our free school will be to ensure each pupil has the chance to flourish and succeed, regardless of ability or background.
“Our free school will be a small school, ensuring each and every individual is known, understood and valued.”
The school plans to cater for 11-to-18-year-olds, with up to 36 pupils in each year, split into three groups."
