Staff at Red House Museum in Gomersal have been decking the hall with boughs of holly… and other traditional decorations.
Every year, the team at the Oxford Road museum spend three days trimming up the stairway and rooms of this 19th century cloth merchant’s home with garlands from the garden – just as they would have done 200 years ago.
Re-creating Christmas past is part of the activities the museum staff are putting on throughout Christmas.
Flute players, handbell ringers and an accordionist will entertain visitors as they browse the displays of Victorian cards and 1950s toys in the Christmas Past exhibition, which runs until January 9.
