Television viewers in Bradford have chosen a classic clip from Only Fools And Horses as their favourite-ever TV moment.

A survey conducted to mark the countdown to next year’s digital switchover, found the scene where Del Boy, played by David Jason, falls through an open bar flap to be the best.

A list of favourite shows with Yorkshire roots sees Emmerdale at the top of the list, followed by Band Of Gold, Open All Hours and Countdown.

The discerning West Yorkshire viewers are also partial to settling down to watch The X Factor, compared with the soap fans of Sheffield and Scunthorpe, who prefer Coronation Street and EastEnders.

The survey found Geordie duo Ant and Dec are the TV stars most likely to be welcomed into a Bradford living room.

However, Noel Edmonds and Dragon’s Den presenter Evan Davis would have them reaching for the remote.

The survey was compiled to help poet Ian McMillan pen a suitable poem to mark the switchover in August 2011, which will see the five analogue TV channels switched off permanently and the Freeview digital service boosted to reach virtually all households in the Yorkshire TV region.
