by Kathie Griffiths T&A Reporter Hip hop singer Master RS has rapped his way through to the final round of an online global music competition.
The 22-year-old now stands the chance of winning an opportunity to perform live on Channel 4.
Master RS – Rahul Sabbarwal of Manchester Road, Bradford – has also just had his I’m A Warrior music video accepted for play on the BBC Big Screen in Centenary Square.
The online competition for Channel 4 is being run in conjunction with bobcom.com. Master RS is through to the final stages with only weeks to get as many votes as he can by using his social network site page.
Rahul, who is an inspirational ambassador for Bradford Council’s B-Someone campaign, said people can vote using social network site Facebook when they add him as a friend. For every fan who adds Rahul he earns a point and for every video, music or image on his page they say they like he earns even more points.
Anyone who does not have a Facebook account can join bobcom.com and search Master RS then add him as a friend and vote on his music.
Last month the Telegraph & Argus reported how Rahul was set to sign a major deal with a film company. He has been offered a £40,000 deal with Indian-based Bollywood company Arjoe Entertainment to act in and provide the music for a new film.
Rahul would play a lead character called Billy in the movie, Tears To Fears, and would create the soundtrack.
His music was spotted by Arya P Bhattacherjee, founder and chairman of Arjoe Entertainment, through Facebook and YouTube.
Rahul said: “I want to put Bradford on the map. People are rating me as Bradford’s best unsigned rapper and my reputation underground has gone up.
‘‘It’s been a long journey and it’s my time to shine now, I’ve put the work in and I deserve it. I’m not going to be like a lot of other rappers who make it big and forget my city. I’m going to come back and give opportunities to talent where it’s due.”
