Grandmothers returned to school to teach children to knit.
As part of their work on the Second World War, children at Water Street Primary School in Skipton found out how people learned to recycle and make their own clothes.
And to give them a real insight, grandmothers have been sharing their skills in knitting and patchwork.
Teacher Jenny Mcnab said the children had loved it.
“We have been doing lots of ‘make-do-and-mend’ textiles work and the grandmas have been teaching the children to knit, rag-rug and do patchwork.”
