Business in all its forms is, and always has been, one of the driving forces behind Bradford.
Industry is just as important now as it was when the district was a textiles powerhouse a century ago. It’s just that the nature of it has changed and evolved to meet the challenges of the 21st century.
One of those major challenges, of course, has been the recession that not only Bradford, but the nation and large parts of the globe, have languished in over the last few years.
That is why we have decided to launch these Bradford Means Business Awards, to give a much-needed boost to those businesses, large and small, who have not only survived the recent tribulations but have thrived.
From the large companies who employ hundreds or even thousands, to the entrepreneurial start-ups, and all points in between, we want to hear from those who have not only weathered the storm but emerged stronger and able to push forward.
We want to hear about the influential business leaders, the hard-pressed retailers who have remained loyal to Bradford in difficult times, and the examples of superb customer service.
We are extremely grateful to Bradford Council and the Bradford Chamber for partnering us on these awards, as we are to all our sponsors, and we look forward to reading the nominations for each category.
Let’s prove that Bradford is upbeat about the future and that we really do mean business.
