Builders working on Bradford’s multi-million-pound City Park project have dug up more historical artefacts, giving them a glimpse into the city’s past.
Metal rails from the city’s former tram system, which ran until 1950, were discovered alongside cobbled paving just below the surface of Channing Way, near City Hall.
The road, which was closed to traffic last month, is being levelled off before work begins on the park’s mirror pool, which is set to be the largest city-centre water feature in the country.
A photograph of the road taken in 1947 is on display as part of the Focus on Bradford exhibition, running at the Bradford 1 Gallery in Centenary Square until Sunday, August 22.
