Guided walks on the theme of periods of local history, and an insight into the work of two Ilkley artists, are among the free events running through the town’s festival month.
Eight popular Ilkley Heritage Guided Walks will give people a closer look at historical sites around the town, complete with talks from local history experts.
The next walk, along the riverside to the cemetery, will set off at 2pm on Wednesday.
Further walks, on Sunday, August 15, Wednesday, August 18, Sunday, August 22, and Tuesday, August 24, will focus on heritage from the Artisan Town, Victorian Moorside and Ilkley Bath Charity Hospital.
Art lovers will also be offered a look behind the scenes at the studio of two Ilkley artists. Joy Godfrey and sister Chris Bailey will open the studio at Unit 4, Back Nelson Road, between 2pm and 4.30pm on the next three Sundays. Visitors will be able to meet the artists and view selected works.
