The route for Bradford’s free mass-cycling event has been unveiled.
Bradford has been chosen as the only city in Yorkshire to host a Sky Ride, an event which will take in the city’s landmarks along traffic-free streets.
The event, on Sunday, August 29, will run from Peel Park, along Bolton Road to Church Bank, taking in the architecture of Little Germany, before going back to the park.
To keep everyone hydrated throughout the day, Gatorade stations will be dotted along the route, providing free drinks.
Evans Cycles Servicing will also be on hand help with any punctures or repairs.
The event has been organised by Sky in partnership with British Cycling and Bradford Council.
Councillor the Reverend Paul Flowers said: “We are very proud Bradford has been chosen.
“It should be a really enjoyable experience and one in which all the family can take part.”
Sir Chris Hoy, Olympic gold medalist and Sky Ride ambassador, said: “Sky and British Cycling have a genuine opportunity to make a positive difference to people’s lives by encouraging as many people as possible to get on their bikes.
“I had a fantastic time at last year’s events in Glasgow and London and it was great to see so many families enjoying all the activities and having fun.”
