Supermarket Asda has been granted permission on appeal to build new retail units alongside its Keighley store.
The company applied to Bradford Council to construct two buildings, to be leased or sold to other retailers, on the former George Farrar Quarries site.
But Bradford Council planners said the proposal was unacceptable because it was outside the town’s central shopping area.
But the planning inspectorate has now passed the plans, subject to a number of conditions including what can be sold from the units.
This will be restricted to DIY and garden goods, furniture, furnishings and floor coverings, major household appliances, audio-visual equipment, vehicle spares and accessories and bicycles and accessories.
