A woman aged 98 has been tricked by distraction thieves after answering her front door.
More than £300 cash was taken from her home in the Pollard Park area of Bradford after the woman allowed a man, posing as a water company official, inside.
He claimed water pipes inside her property needed to be inspected because of a leak next door. But he kept the resident talking in the bathroom while a second man is believed to have followed them in through the unlocked door to get his hands on the money.
The bogus caller was white, aged 18 or 19, of average build and about 5ft 6in tall. He had short black hair, was clean shaven and wore a black cap, black patterned jumper and black trousers.
Any witnesses or anyone with any information about the incident at about 3.30pm on Tuesday, July 20, should call Sergeant Andy Strafford on (01274) 376443 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
