Commuters catching early morning train services on the Skipton to Leeds have been hit by delays.
A Northern Rail service, the 7.24am train from Skipton, was halted at Steeton and Silsden station.
An eyewitness reported commuters flocking from the station in search of alternative onward journeys. Engineers were seen standing on the tracks in the direction of Keighley inspecting the track.
A Northern Rail spokesman said: ''We had a track issue between Silsden and Steeton and Keighley which meant we couldn’t run services between Keighley and Skipton for 40 minutes. At 7.40am we could resume services at a reduced speed but there will be a knock-on effect to later services''
