Punk legends The Buzzcocks, indie rockers Ash, and dance band Hadouken! have confirmed they will be appearing at this year’s Bingley Music Live festival.
Veteran rockers The Buzzcocks, who formed in 1976, are still performing regularly and released their latest album Flat-Pack Philosophy in 2006.
One of their best known songs is their 1978 hit Ever Fallen in Love (With Someone You Shouldn’t’ve).
The band will perform on Friday, September 3, the free opening night of the three-day festival.
Indie darlings Ash, who will perform on the Saturday, rose to fame in the 1990s with popular hits including Girl From Mars, Goldfinger and Burn Baby Burn.
Before the Bingley gig the band will tour Japan, Australia and Europe, and will be performing at the Leeds and Reading festivals.
And Leeds based new ravers Hadouken!, who are currently working on their third album, will appear on the Sunday.
Also joining the line-up will be the winners of a battle of the bands competition held at St George’s Hall on Saturday.
Competing are Jasmine Kennedy, The Mexanines, The Dawnriders and Black Diamond Bay. Other acts to play at Bingley Music Live include folk rockers The Levellers, indie bands James, The Enemy and Reef, dance act Example and 24-piece female choir Gaggle.
About 15,000 revellers are expected to descend on the festival at Myrtle Park.
It is now in its fourth year as a Bradford Council-run event.
Council event manager Andrew Wood said: “I’m happy with the line-up, it’s very diverse and it’s ticking the boxes for everyone.
“Having one stage makes it difficult, but we have got all varieties on one stage. We have broadened it out and we think it works, but it’s about the punters.”
Tickets cost £30, plus booking fee, and are on sale online at bingleymusiclive.com or by calling the hotline on 0871 2300010.
