One of the district’s oldest residents celebrated her 104th birthday with a visit from Bradford’s first citizen.
A party was thrown in Beatrice Mitchell’s honour at Elmhurst Residential Home in Undercliffe.
It was attended by the Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Peter Hill, and Lady Mayoress Gillian Hill.
Miss Mitchell, who lived in Fagley until moving into the care home, is also known as Moira. She was born in Undercliffe on July 22, 1906.
Her friend Phyllis McLoughlin, told the Telegraph & Argus: “She was so grateful for a visit from the Lord Mayor.”
