Dance styles from across the globe were performed in Bradford's Centenary Square at the weekend for the start of the city’s countdown to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Visitors to the city centre were invited to take part in a ‘flash mob’ Bollywood dance spectacular, led by Zoohin Surty, a cultural dance ambassador for Leeds-based South Asian Arts.
The dance marked the start of Step Up Bradford, an open weekend to celebrate the Cultural Olympiad and also included performances from Dance Bradford, Cirqu Bijou, Prodigal Theatre’s Urban Playground team and aerial dance troupe Gravity and Levity.
The event was funded by the Legacy Trust, an independent charity set up to create a lasting legacy from London 2012.
