It’s curtain-up for a new season at Keighley Playhouse, which has announced its new season covering dramas and comedies from Alan Bennett to John Chapman.

“They are guaranteed to raise a smile or two,” says chairman Kevin Moore. “Keighley audiences are very astute when it comes to watching a good play and getting value-for-money. They tell us what they like and we respond positively.

“With the new seating being installed over the summer, we have managed to maintain a hold on any ticket price increase for the forthcoming season. Our audience told us they requested more legroom and comfort, and we have taken the best advice possible, without losing the number of seats while adding durability and high quality.”

The new season starts on September 6 with Cookin’ With Gus, a comedy about a food columnist and cookbook author who gets the chance to star on TV, then discovers she suffers crippling stage-fright.

Other productions include the classic Jekyll And Hyde, The Railway Children, Carrie’s War and a comedy called Holiday Snap.

Tickets for all shows are available on 08451 267859 or online at keighley playhouse.co.uk.
