A vulnerable man had his life savings stolen after being attacked in his home in a “despicable robbery.”
Intruders entered the house, dragged the man to the floor and stole his safe, which contained a substantial amount of cash.
Detectives are appealing for witnesses to the incident, between 11am and noon on Wednesday at a house in Whinney Hill Park, Brighouse.
Police believe the suspects deliberately targeted the vulnerable man who was known to keep cash on the premises.
The 48-year-old victim was not injured but was left shaken.
The two suspects, one described as white and the other black, then fled on foot.
Detective Inspector Tony Nicholson, of Calderdale CID, said: “This was a particularly despicable robbery committed against a vulnerable man and I would appeal directly to people in the community to let us know who did it.
“The victim has had all of his money taken from him.
“It is highly unlikely that this was a random attack.”
Witnesses should call Calderdale CID on 0845 6060606.
