Dancers will descend on Bradford tomorrow night as the city begins its countdown to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The Northern School of Contemporary Dance will mark the start of a weekend of events with a performance celebrating Cartwright Hall Art Gallery’s Sacrament of Marriage exhibition at 6pm.
Saturday will see Centenary Square transformed with people invited to take part in a flash mob Bollywood dance spectacular in front of the big screen at noon.
The flash mob will mark the start of Step Up Bradford, part of an Open Weekend which celebrates the Cultural Olympiad.
Other events include D’fusion, performed by Dance Bradford, at 2.30pm, and Cirqu Bijou performing Helter Skelter at 5pm, 7.30pm and 9.15pm. Prodigal Theatre’s Urban Playground team will be performing at 3pm, 7.15pm and 8.45pm and Gravity and Levity will perform at 1pm, 5.30pm and the event’s finale at 9.30pm.
