An Open Islam day is being held in Keighley town centre this Saturday.
The event – designed to educate and entertain – will be staged by the Abu Zahra Foundation on Church Green from 10am to 5pm.
It will feature the Islamic call to prayer, interactive exhibitions, henna painting and Arabic calligraphy.
There will also be workshops delivered by a group from Birmingham called Shaam, that specialises in Muslim devotional poems, known as Nasheeds.
Abu Zahra is based in Highfield Lane, Keighley, and teaches Islamic practices in ways relevant to Muslims living in the West.
Event co-ordinator Majid Hussain said: “We would like to get as many people from different backgrounds involved as possible and there will be food and refreshments.’’ He added that the foundation was working alongside Eastwood Primary School and the Extended Schools scheme.
