A family carnival will mark this weekend’s official opening of Skipton Children’s Centre.
The centre has been open for a year, but the event will give people a chance to find out more about its work.
Centred on the Brougham Street “hub”, it also operates from Ings, Otley Street and Greatwood primary schools.
And a range of services for parents include toddler groups and health care, a baby clinic and music and movement classes for children.
There are also cookery classes for families, grandparent groups and training in first aid, baby massage and breastfeeding.
Also planned is an allotment for growing vegetables and an autumn programme of musical activities.
Manager Heidi Farrar said: “We want all parents and carers in our community to get involved here and to contribute to its development.”
The carnival will be open from 10am to 1.30pm on Saturday.
