Police in Bradford wheeled out an expensive sports car – seized from an organised gang – to prove that crime does not pay.
The Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe, worth £95,000 when new, is on a tour of West Yorkshire after a judge at Bradford Crown Court ruled that it had been bought with the proceeds of crime.
The luxury motor is the focal point of moves by police to highlight the ‘Why Should They?’ campaign, which encourages the public to come forward with information if they suspect people are living off the proceeds of crime.
Acting Inspector Sean Duggan, of Bradford South’s City ward neighbourhood policing team, said: “The recovered Porsche underlines our continuing drive to target those people who are using crime to fund their lifestyle."
