A community hub in Bradford has been given a sharp new look with the help of a legal team.
Bierley Community Centre has been spruced up with a fresh lick of paint and outside areas tidied by volunteers from the legal department at Bradford-based Yorkshire Building Society.
Twenty volunteers, including colleagues from the Chelsea Building Society, gave up their time as part of the Yorkshire’s Actionteering project. Each member of staff at the Society is entitled to seven hours’ paid leave per year to take part in such activities. The community centre came under new management last year. It offers help with job searches, advice on employment, legal issues, classes and social activities.
Pictured are the team who gave the centre its new lease of life and, above right, Pam Timmins, Debbie Heaton and Gemma Whitley spruce up the railings.
