A long-awaited electronic sign which flashes warnings to speeding drivers is to be installed on a road in Undercliffe.
Safety campaigners have been calling for action on Bolton Road for years after a series of fatal accidents.
Bradford Council’s highways engineers have confirmed the post for the sign warning drivers about the bend between the junctions with Queen’s Road and Cliffe Road has been installed. The electricity supply and sign will follow shortly.
In addition the junction of Cliffe Road with Bolton Road will be altered.
Aldo Devittoris, who runs Ital Restaurant on Bolton Road, said: “Anything which can raise awareness and encourage drivers to slow down is to be welcomed.”
Bolton and Undercliffe councillor Howard Middleton has also been calling for the improvements.
