A taxi driver raped a young mother in the back of his cab after she had been drinking in Bradford city centre, a jury heard.
The 19-year-old woman told Bradford Crown Court today she was enjoying her first big night out since suffering from post-natal depression.
Mohammed Ahmed, 42, of Clifton Villas, Manningham, Bradford, denies raping the woman twice on October 11 last year.
Prosecutor Tina Dempster said the Bradford woman went out on the Saturday night with a friend.
She was drinking in pubs and clubs in the city centre, finishing at Walkabout.
The teenager could not recall leaving the bar or getting into a taxi, Miss Dempster said.
The jury was shown CCTV footage of her crossing Centenary Square and in Lloyds Bar during the evening.
Security cameras also caught her sitting on a wall on her own near Bradford University and getting into a taxi.
She told police she remembered the driver taking a wrong turn on the way to her address.
It is alleged that Ahmed parked his taxi in a dark area, got into the back with the woman and said: “I’ll show you a good time.”
He is accused of twice raping her before dropping her off in a car park near her home.
The jury was played a tape of the woman sobbing after she dialled 999 to report that she had been raped.
Cross-examined by Sophie Drake, Ahmed’s barrister, the teenager agreed she went out that night to have a good time. She denied telling the taxi driver she had not had a good night out and did not want to go home.
Miss Drake alleged the teenager directed Ahmed out of the city and initiated the sex.
The woman denied telling Ahmed she wanted to “play around” with him.
The trial continues.
