A packed programme of summer events begins next week at the Bronte Parsonage Museum in Haworth.

“Write your own Bodice Ripper!” on Wednesday, July 28, will give visitors a chance to take part in a series of writing activities.

On August 4, artist Rachel Lee will run silk-painting activities for children and on August 7 Orly Orbach creates ‘pyrographic’ illustrations on tree stumps.

“Hands on History” on August 11 will give youngsters the opportunity to try their hand at Bronte-period pastimes such as book making and cross-stitch.

There’s interactive storytelling for children – with “Tall Tales and Riddling Rhymes” – on August 18 and a churchyard challenge trail for families on August 25.

A new exhibition of paper-cut installations by artist Su Blackwell is being launched at the museum on August 21.
