A business trip to New York beckons for a group of teenage product designers.
Four Year Eight pupils at Queensbury School, Bradford, jet out to America in October where they will present their invention, the Bear Chair, to staff representing leading international companies.
The Bear Chair is a relaxation chair for five to 12-year-olds which has speakers in its ears, fingers to hold books and cups, a secret compartment in the toes and built-in slippers.
The team clinched the prized trip by being crowned winners of the University of York’s Big Deal Enterprise Competition.
During the ten-week challenge they presented a prototype of the Bear Chair to a panel of judges in a Dragons’ Den style heat at the Royal Armouries.
