A major facelift for a Bradford park is set to be completed in three phases.
The £20,000 project will see Bradford Council’s area development officer, neighbourhood wardens, parks and landscape staff, the probation service and local youths teaming up to improve Seymour Park in Barkerend.
Phase one will see a deep clean of the whole park area, removing litter and fly-tipped rubbish, and cutting back overgrown vegetation.
The second phase will see park furniture upgraded, play equipment repainted and more barriers to prevent access by motorbikes and cars.
The last phase will see local youths taking part in a graffiti competition later this year, and their contribution will form a mural on the exterior of the changing rooms. The woodlands will also be developed.
