Bradford football fan Mike McNally should be feeling a million dollars after a £10 gamble on World Cup games paid off.
The 29-year-old won $1 million, or £650,000, after accurately predicting the scores of 36 out of the 64 matches to be played in the South Africa tournament.
He was the contestant with the most correct predictions of anyone to take part in the global contest on the titanbet.com website.
Mr McNally’s chances were, however, almost scuppered by England’s dismal performance in the competition, as he had backed the squad to beat Germany and go all the way through to the semi-finals.
He said: “I was speechless when I learned I’d won. I just wish England could have performed as well as I did.”
