Youngsters from Scalakids School for Performing Arts in Horsforth have landed lead roles in High School Musical, which runs until tonight at Ashville College Theatre in Harrogate.
Young performer Jake Mitchell, who has appeared in TV dramas such as Heartbeat and A Touch Of Frost, is playing leading man Troy, and Ashford Campbell, who has been in children’s TV series My Parents Are Aliens, plays Chad.
Alice Goddard takes on the lead role of Gabriella and Vicky Holmes plays Taylor.
Their teacher, Lynne Walker, says: “It’s amazing that all four main parts in this show have been given to Scala kids – I’m so very proud of them all!”

Scalakids are running a summer drama workshop, open to all children, from July 26 to 30, 9.30am to 4.30pm. The week will culminate in a performance by the youngsters. For more information, ring (0113) 2506823.
