A fresh crop of children have received a warm welcome to their future school during a pupil-run harmony camp.
Year Nine and Ten pupils at Dixons Allerton Academy in Oaks Lane, Bradford, were charged with running the event to give the academy’s next intake a good feeling about joining them there in September.
Pupils helped run art, cookery and dance workshops and held games of dodgeball, football and cricket.
They were trained to run the event by people development company Human Utopia.
Led by Graham Moore, the team is working with the academy to equip pupils with life skills and enjoy them to be positive, social role models.
Luke Sparkes, the academy’s assistant principal, said: “We are trying to transform our culture and the life chances of individuals.”
