The future of nearly £10 million of land in Bradford owned by Yorkshire Forward is still undecided ahead of the regional development agency being scrapped.
Between 2003 and 2006, the agency snapped up seven strategic plots in and around the city centre, which it considered vital for key regeneration projects.
The valuable sites include the former Odeon cinema and its car park, the old city centre police headquarters and land on Valley Road to facilitate the canal basin development which was considered key to the masterplan.
The seven sites are: Velocity, the former Bradford Business and Innovation Centre, Listerhills, March 2003, for £575,000; The Odeon, Prince’s Way, June 2003 for £1.9m; the Odeon car park, October 2004, for £1.1m; the police station at The Tyrls, in February 2005 for £2.1m; land at the former Furniture City warehouse site, Valley Road, in March 2005 for £3,250,000; land at the former National Tyres site, Leeds Road, January 2006 for £450,000; and 2-16 Great Horton Road, January 2006, for £375,000.
Yorkshire Forward is now reviewing the future strategy with regard to all its assets, and no decisions have been made as yet.
