A wheelchair-using student at South Craven School, Cross Hills, near Keighley, will be living with Bedouin tribes and scuba diving from the end of this month.
Emily Yates, who has finished taking four A-Levels, will travel to Egypt with the Yorkshire Schools Exploration Society.
She has raised £2,000 to claim her place on the trip.
A South Craven School spokesman said: “She is no stranger to adventures as she went to Africa with a similar group two years ago. She then experienced cage diving and safari, so riding a camel and scuba diving should hold no fears.”
