A Bradford businessman and his wife have been invited to Buckingham Palace in recognition of their community work.
Mohinder Singh Khinda and Gurmit Kaur Khina, of Lyndean Gardens, Idle, will join The Queen at a garden party on Tuesday, July 20.
Mr Khinda was a teacher in India before moving to the city in 1962 to study engineering at Bradford College.
Since retiring from work as an engineer in Shipley, he has been running a successful business for the past 25 years.
The family business includes post offices, newspaper and off-licence shops.
Mr Khinda has also worked with community associations and is currently an active member of the Bradford Punjabi Cultural Society.
Mr Khinda said: “My wife and I are very much honoured to be invited by Her Majesty The Queen and look forward to seeing her at Buckingham Palace.”
