A plan to build a new sports hall at South Craven School, Cross Hills, near Skipton, has been given the go-ahead.
North Yorkshire County Council’s planning and regulatory functions committee approved an application for the new building to the south-east of the school.
The sports hall would be constructed of buff brick to a height of just over three metres to match the school building. The remainder of the extension would be constructed from a white vinyl membrane stretched over a steel frame.
The sports hall would be capable of accommodating three badminton courts, but would also be used for other sporting activities such as netball, football and cricket.
