The police need more responses to a survey if a ‘No Cold Calling’ zone is to be set up in Ilkley, according to police Inspector Sue Sanderson.
Police and trading standards officials are consulting people in the Grove Park area about setting up a zone covering 15 streets. It would see residents given signs and window stickers to display, warning cold callers not to approach their homes.
The scheme, which could be funded under the Proceeds of Crime Act, was suggested in response to numerous complaints about door to door canvassers in some parts of Ilkley.
Residents can respond to the consultation by calling Ilkley Police Station on (01274) 475301 or e-mailing the Neighbourhood Policing Team at hanpt1@westyorkshire.pnn. police.uk.
