A man has told a jury he saw a neighbour with blood gushing out of him after hearing a disturbance at his home.
Tajuddin Ali said he heard smashing glass and screaming at the house in Little Horton Lane, Bradford.
Mr Ali was giving prosecution evidence in the trial of Syed Bukhari, 28, of Ringwood Road, Canterbury, Bradford. He denies murdering brothel-keeper Tinakorn Tuekpia and conspiracy to rob.
Mr Tuekpia died on his 42nd birthday after he was knifed when a gang smashed its way into his home at 1am on August 17 last year.
He collapsed dying in the garden in front of his pregnant girlfriend after trying to defend himself with a stick. Mr Ali told Bradford Crown Court yesterday he heard breaking glass and a woman screaming.
It is alleged the four-strong gang believed up to £25,000 was hidden under floorboards at the property.
Subhan Khan, 21, of Tern Street, Canterbury, Bradford, Israr Hussain, 28, of Grantham Road, Little Horton, and a teenager, 17 at the time, have pleaded guilty to manslaughter and conspiracy to rob. Bukhari denies being at the scene or being one of the gang.
The trial continues.
