A bridge over the M62 near Cleckheaton closes to traffic next month for it to be replaced.
The Whitechapel Road bridge, which carries the B6120 over the motorway, will be closed for 42 weeks from Monday, August 16.
Diversions will be in place for drivers and cyclists and a free bus service will be provided for pedestrians.
An exhibition was due to be held today at Whitcliffe Mount Business & Enter-prise College in Turnstead Avenue, Cleckheaton, from 2pm to 8pm.
Highways Agency project manager Tim Calvert said: “Investigations have shown it would not be economical to repair the bridge and the only option is to replace it.”
Drivers are advised to plan their journey and allow extra time when travelling on the diversion routes.
