Health bosses are looking at a piece of Bradford Council-owned land in Leeds Road, Ilkley, as the potential site for a replacement for the town’s Coronation Hospital.
Details of the possible sale emerged last night after Ilkley Conservative councillor Mike Gibbons questioned Council leader Ian Greenwood during the full council.
Coun Gibbons has long been calling for NHS Bradford and Airedale to lift the lid on the negotiations for an unnamed site for the project.
The trust unveiled its plans last year to build a new hospital on the current Springs Lane site, but in September announced it was looking at building the £3 million-plus hospital elsewhere.
Coun Greenwood said: “In addition to rebuilding on the existing site the NHS is investigating the availability of alternative sites for a new medical centre, including the Council’s land on Leeds Road.”
