Members of the charity and support group Headway Bradford visited Saltaire Methodist Church to be presented with a cheque for £900.
The money was raised by church members during Saltaire Festival through the sale of meals.
A further £900 has been raised for the Methodist Relief and Development Fund.
Headway Bradford helps families affected by brain injuries.
It holds support group meetings for carers and is working towards the creation of a rehabilitation unit in Bradford, respite care for people with a brain injury, counselling for both carers and the brain injured and a neurologist and rehabilitation consultant for Bradford.
A petition calling for improvements in care for people living with a brain injury was presented to Bradford Council earlier this year.
Marian Mawson, president of Saltaire Methodist Wives Group, chose to support the charity after meeting members at a neighbourhood forum and being impressed by its work.
