Bromley town centre was brought to a standstill recently when six veterans in their 80s and 90s turned up in a parade to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Britain.

Bromley is the nearest town to RAF Biggin Hill, where these veterans served. RAF Northolt was represented by Wing Commander Chris Platt as they also took a lot of flak during this period. The marching band and convoy of vehicles were cheered on by hundreds of local bystanders.
