Villagers are putting more pressure on highways bosses over speeding drivers.
A petition is to be presented to Keighley Area Committee later this month calling for more traffic-calming measures in Bolton Road, Addingham. The move is part of an ongoing campaign to improve road safety in the village.
Residents in Bolton Road have complained that tourists heading for the Dales take shortcuts along the road, which passes Addingham Primary School.
They now hope to secure funding for traffic-calming measures and residents’ parking areas. And they will ask for the limit of four-hour parking in Bolton Road car park to be removed.
Parish council chairman Ian Taylor said there was no ideal solution to the problem but that they would continue to explore whatever ideas people had.
