Three men have pleaded not guilty to murdering a teenager who died from a stab wound near his Bradford home.
Mohammed Rohail, 22, of Sandford Road, Bradford Moor; Amriz Iqbal, 31, of Curzon Road, Bradford Moor, and Ibrar Saddiq, 26, of Fitzroy Road, Barkerend, Bradford, all appeared at Bradford Crown Court yesterday.
Following the short hearing in which their not guilty pleas were taken they were remanded back into custody until their next court appearance.
All deny murdering Mohammed Rayaib, 19, in the early hours of March 16 this year. Mr Rayaib, a cashier, died after an incident in Gladstone Street, Bradford Moor, in the early hours of Tuesday, March 16.
An inquest in April was told that the cause of death was a stab wound to the chest.
Following the not guilty pleas a trial will now be held, which will take place at Teeside Crown Court.
It is scheduled to begin on October 18 and is expected to last for four weeks.
Shocked neighbours said at the time that Mr Rayaib let out a “blood-curdling scream” as he was allegedly attacked.
Mr Rayaib, who lived with his parents in Gladstone Street, was taken by ambulance to Bradford Royal Infirmary where he died.
He was educated at Carlton Bolling School and worked for the family take-away business.
More than 200 people attended a special prayer service for Mr Rayaib at the Madni Jamia Mosque, Thornbury Road, Bradford, not long after he died.
